Back in 1993,in my senior year of high school,my English teacher asked ,"since we were done with our term papers and our exit exams,how about a movie?" The entire class suggested different movies and when I got my turn to say,I told my teacher," A month ago ,my mom and dad rented a movie that when they picked me up from school,they told me not to do any homework until I saw this movie. After I saw it, this movie blew my mind." The teacher asked,"what's this movie? I replied,"The Last of the Mohicans" Every student stood up and shouted,"YES,That One!!!" The next week before school ended,we watched this movie. My teacher gave me a leather bound copy of the book written by James Fenimore Cooper for choosing such a great movie

I remember my dad watching this movie and all he did all the way through was criticise saying it didn't happen that way or this way and the Germans were not that stupid. I knew he was right because my dad was one of the British soldiers at D Day, he was in the Seaforth Highlanders and landed at Sword Beach. But one comment he made that stuck in my mind was when he said "I don't think we were in this war". He was right as it focused more on the Americans side of things. I think they forgot that the British, French and Poles were there too.

Just makes you want to jump on the back of a horse, ride into town and take down the bad guys.

Strange movie. One definitely of its time. This music with the moments of levity like the hapless guard who had the keys swiped make you wonder how the Nazis conquered most of Europe, but it is a great film all the same. Just for a different time

Remember when people used to clap at the end of a movie...

The ending of the movie was sad enough, could you imagine if they had this song at the end? The whole theater would have been weeping.

If ever a film cried out for a sequel this was it.

All the actors in this film have very good interpretations on the soldiers who decided to fight always against the nazi so cruel tyranny and God bless all and more the militar men and even woman who sacrified even their life for no dictators in Europe. 80 years ago today my Uncle, Thomas J Restino, landed on Omaha Beach with the 926th Signal Battalion. He served all the through to Germany. Never wounded or he never reported he was wounded. RIP 🪦
